FITA CategoriesArchery is governed by the International Federation, FITA. In South Africa, we tend to compete in three types of archery. In outdoor archery, FITA recognise the Recurve, Standard Bow and Compound Divisions. In indoor archery, FITA recognise the Recurve and Compound divisions, and for field archery, FITA recognise the Recurve, Compound and Barebow divisions.
The combination of a class and a division is called ‘Category’ as follows (FITA C&R 4.4).
As of 1 April, SANAA Congress resolved to allow only these categories to participate in the individual eliminations, as only the FITA categories listed above carry world ranking.
